What it costs to be listed

The usual deal is that you rent your visibility: stop paying and you disappear, and the reviews you collected stay behind. That isn't the deal here.

The usual paid directory
£960–£4,800 a year

Typically a monthly subscription, often on a twelve-month tie-in, with leads charged on top and shared with three to five other trades before you've picked up the phone.

  • Extra per lead, win or lose
  • Your reviews live on their platform, not yours

What you actually get

Six things, all included, all working today — with the mechanism named so you can check each one.

Every platform on one profile

Your Google rating sits next to Checkatrade, Facebook, Yell, Trustpilot and Bark, each with its own review count and a link straight through to read them at the source. We connect them for you — there's nothing to wire up.

One score, on a demanding scale

The Tradey Rated Score puts every platform onto the same 0–100 scale and weights them, so a hard-won 4.9 from two hundred reviews finally reads as better than a lone five-star. Empty platforms are ignored, not counted as zero.

A page built to be found

Your profile is indexed with proper business markup, and it feeds the trade-and-town pages people actually search for — "electricians in Chesterfield" and the like. Nothing to configure and no SEO invoice.

Found by real distance

Someone types a postcode and sets how far they'll go. We geocode it and measure actual miles, so you turn up for the streets you cover instead of only for the town whose name is in your listing.

A live badge for your own site

Drop one line of HTML on your website and your current score renders as an image that updates itself. Your van, your quotes and your site all point at the same number.

Your team, on one listing

Add the people who work for you, hand each of them a tag, and see whose jobs are bringing the reviews in. They don't need an account unless you want to give them one.

Not yet

Reviews Pro — AI-drafted review replies, automatic invites and deeper analytics — is still being built and can't be bought yet. If it'd be useful, put your name down and we'll tell you when it's real. Nothing on this page depends on it.

More local exposure

Two ways to be the one they find first.

Nearly everyone looking for a trade starts with a search, and most of them never scroll past the three local results at the top. Getting into that block is the whole game — and there are only two levers you can actually pull.

The first is being findable at all. Your TradeyRated profile is a real indexed page with proper business markup on it — your trade, your town, your rating, your review count — and it feeds the trade-and-town pages that catch searches like "plumbers in Mansfield". That's a second front door alongside your own website, and it costs nothing to hold.

The second is your review record. Google weighs how many reviews you have, how recent they are and whether you reply — and it has got noticeably fussier about the recent part. A profile with two hundred reviews and nothing since spring reads worse than a steady trickle. That's what the tap-to-review tag is for: it keeps the trickle going without you having to ask twice.

We can't promise you a position — nobody honestly can, and anyone who does is selling something. What we can do is make sure the signals you control are as strong as they'll go.

More enquiries

The enquiry comes straight to you.

There's no bidding, no auction and nobody else on the other end of it. Your profile carries your phone number as a tap-to-call, your website, and a quote form — and a quote request lands in the enquiry inbox in your dashboard, where you can work it through new, contacted, won or lost.

You are not buying that enquiry, and you are not sharing it with four other trades who were sent the same job an hour ago. It's yours, and what you quote is what you keep.

Reviews you keep

Build the asset on ground you own.

The reason leaving a paid directory hurts isn't the notice period. It's that years of five-star reviews sit on their site under their brand, and none of it comes with you.

We work the other way round. The tap-to-review tag sends your customer to your Google listing — the one you'd still have if TradeyRated vanished tomorrow. We read the totals back in to build your score; we don't hold the reviews hostage. One tap on the keyring while you're packing the van, no app to download and nothing to type in.

Questions trades actually ask

The catch, the cost, the leads and what happens if you walk away.

What's the catch — how is the listing free?

There isn't one, and it helps to know where the money comes from. TradeyRated sells physical tap-to-review tags: the tag itself is free and you pay £3.99 to have it posted. The directory exists because a tag is more use to you when it points at a profile worth landing on. So the listing has no fee, no subscription, no commission and no charge per lead, and you can hold one forever without buying a tag.

Can I pay to rank higher?

No, and neither can the trade down the road. There are no sponsored slots and no advertising on the results page. Vetted Pros sit in a band above everyone else — that's earned by sending in ID and insurance, not bought — and inside each band the order comes from a confidence-weighted review score, then distance, then how recently the profile was added. A Vetted Pro who earns a genuinely poor record drops out of the top band.

Do I have to buy a tag to be in the directory?

No. The listing is free and stands entirely on its own — plenty of profiles will never have a tag near them. The tag is what turns finished jobs into fresh reviews, which is what makes a score move, but it's an optional extra and nothing on your listing is gated behind it.

Will you send my details to other companies, or sell my leads?

No. An enquiry from your profile goes to you and nobody else — we don't resell it, we don't route the same job to four trades, and there's no credit to buy before you can read it. We're not a lead broker and there's no mechanism in the product to become one.

My listing is already there and the details are wrong. Can I fix it?

Yes — claim it and you can edit the lot yourself: name, trade, services, opening hours, phone, website, logo and socials. We build listings from public sources so the directory is useful from day one, which does mean some of them are out of date until an owner takes over. If you'd rather it came down altogether, email hello@tradeyrated.com and we'll remove it.

How do I become a Vetted Pro, and what does it cost?

It's free. Upload photo ID and a valid public liability insurance certificate from your dashboard and someone here checks them by hand — no automated lookup and no fee. Both have to be verified and unexpired, and the badge drops off the day the cover lapses. It's the only badge on the site that involves us checking paperwork, and it can't be bought.

I've got lads working for me — can they be on it?

Yes, and they don't need an account. Add each person to your team, assign them a tag, and their taps are attributed to them so you can see whose jobs bring the reviews in. If you want someone to be able to log in and help run the listing you can give them a login and take it back later.

What happens if I stop using it?

Nothing you'd notice, which is rather the point. There's no subscription to cancel and no notice period. Your reviews were never held here — they're on Google and the other platforms you already own — so leaving costs you nothing but the listing itself. Email us and we'll take that down too.

Take your listing over. It costs nothing.
